Koga Michisaki (久我通前)
Michisaki KOGA (November 29, 1591 - December 3, 1635) was a Kugyo (court noble) during the early Edo period. He mainly served Emperor Gomizunoo (108th) and Emperor Meisho (109th) and his official rank was raised to Shosanmi Gon Chunagon (Senior Third Rank, provisional vice-councilor of state). His father was Gon Dainagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state) Atsumichi KOGA. His mother was an adopted daughter of Gon Dainagon Haremichi KOGA. His younger brothers were Michiyo KOGA, Michinori KUZE. His wife was a daughter of Hideharu HORI. His children were Sakone no chujo (Middle Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards) Takamichi KOGA, Naidaijin (minister of the center) Hiromichi KOGA, Ariyoshi CHIGUSA's lawful wife.
In 1615 he was raised to peerage. Thereafter he was successively promoted to Jiju (Chamberlain), Ukone no shosho (Minor Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards), Sakone no chujo (Middle Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards), and in 1624 he became Chugu Gon no suke (Provisional Assistant Master of the Consort's Household) of Masako TOKUGAWA, Chugu (the Empress) of the Emperor Gomizunoo, but he resigned his post when the Emperor abdicated in 1629. In 1630 he transferred to Gon Chunagon (provisional vice-councilor of state). In 1631 he became Shosanmi (Senior Third Rank), but in 1635 he passed away. He died at the age of thirty-six.
